Parent & Grandparent Sponsorship
Reuniting people with their parents and grandparents is an important program in Canadian immigration system. Every year, IRCC provides chances to its citizens and permanent residents to register their interest to sponsor their parents and grandparents. Randomly selected successful sponsors are then invited to submit their applications within given timeframe. Sponsor must meet the minimum income requirements and should sign an undertaking to provide for basic needs of sponsored family for a fixed time duration.
Spousal Sponsorship
Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their spouse or common-law partners for permanent residence in Canada. The sponsored person must be at least 18 years old, admissible to Canada and must prove that the relationship is genuine. The Sponsor does not needs to meet the income requirements but must sign an undertaking and take responsibility for a period of time for the sponsored person.
Dependent Children Sponsorship
Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their dependent children for permanent residence in Canada. The dependent child must be under 22 years(except in case they are mentally or physically dependent on parents), and must not be married or in common-law relationship. Sponsor must meet minimum income requirements and also sign an undertaking for the responsibility of sponsored dependent child/children.
